It’s finally here, System Administrator Appreciation Day.
We asked for nominations for any SysAdmin that deserves the recognition and may not get it. And, to be honest, we were blown away by the response. We had more nominations that we anticipated. Which tells us one thing. There are many, many SysAdmins that deserve recognition not just today, but every day. While we’d love to recognize each and every one of those nominated, we are only able to recognize three. A simple “Thank You” is never enough so we’ll be sending a gift card to each nominee along with our own personal “Thank You.”
And, maybe today, our three winners along with all the SysAdmins out there can take a moment to enjoy the day and not have to work as tirelessly to keep our networks up and running, our data safe, available and protected and our desktops and laptops connected to all the resources each and every one of us needs to do our jobs day-to-day.
Without further ado, here are the three randomly selected winners from around the globe.
Congrats Shawn, Jonathan and Amy.
And, here’s what the nominees had to say about each one:
- “Shawn works around the clock to keep the hospital safe from what is out there.”
- (Jonathan): “Our Brisbane IT fellows do everything to keep clients IT systems up and running smoothly.”
- “Amy is incredible. She is always available. She makes time for everyone. She leads the evening and weekend rollouts/updates/fires and she is always in an infectious good mood, and has a smile that lights up and room, even the server room. I owe a lot of success at work to Amy and she deserves to be recognized. Thank you for the opportunity.”
While we are doing our best to make Shawn’s, Jonathan’s and Amy’s day memorable, we encourage everyone to take a moment and recognize those Sysdmins out there.
There are many ways to do that, but if you need inspiration, here are a few suggestions:
- Cake & Ice cream
- Pizza
- Cards
- Gifts
- Words of gratitude
- Custom t-shirts celebrating the epic greatness of your SysAdmin
- Balloons
- Confetti
To the SysAdmins out there, including our own Isaac Vargas, Adolfo Mora and Milos Djokic enjoy the day! Keep doing what you are doing. You are all rockstars.
