I’m excited to join HYCU as Head of Cloud Products and start a new chapter in my career. The few friends in the industry I have shared this news with have all asked the same question, “What attracted you to HYCU?” It’s not just one thing but many to be honest. I thought it would be good to note the “Top Five” while they are still fresh and share them in my first blog at HYCU.

The main reason is HYCU’s innovative R-Cloud platform, built by a phenomenal team of engineers, offers a unique solution to the growing challenges of protecting data in cloud and SaaS environments without forgetting where much of that data currently resides. With that said, here are my “Top Five.”

Why did I choose HYCU?

  1. Industry’s Broadest Coverage:

HYCU protects more than 10X as many SaaS, PaaS, IaaS and DBaaS workloads than any other data protection provider - providing unmatched coverage across cloud and SaaS. No Data is left unprotected. For example, HYCU supports GCE, GKE, GCS, Cloud SQL, Bigtable, BigQuery, Firestore, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and more in Google Cloud. AWS coverage also includes EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation, VPC, IAM, KMS and more. No other solution supports even half these number of services with enterprise class data protection.

  1. HYCU R-Graph™ - Visualizing and Managing SaaS Resilience:

HYCU is the only vendor in the industry helping customers visualize their entire data estate, and at no charge. R-Graph’s automated discovery and visualization engine offers a centralized view of your application and SaaS landscape. As our “State of SaaS Resilience in 2024” report suggests, most organizations severely underestimate their reliance on cloud and SaaS. Knowing the problem is half the battle.

  1. Amazing People and a Strong Culture of Innovation:

Winning the battle mandates speed and (artificial) intelligence. HYCU’s low-code AI-assisted development platform enables rapid build-out of new and exciting innovations. HYCU may be one of the youngest players in an otherwise mature ecosystem, but it is rapidly gaining ground with a culture of innovation. The HYCU team is also customer-obsessed and doesn’t let the excitement of innovation overshadow customer needs. Whether it is proactive management with telemetry data or an industry high NPS of 90+, the obsession is clear and well deserved.

  1. Breaking Down Silos in Cloud and SaaS

Many companies target cloud with a compact list of core services – often VMs and Buckets along with a DBaaS or two. Or they focus on a couple of core SaaS offerings –M365, Salesforce, etc. However, the winning strategy in my mind is to shatter these silos. The latest trends show that cloud exodus is no longer a conspiracy theory, and a unified, consistent, nimble platform is going to win in an ultra-portable world of data.

  1. Riding the Wave: HYCU’s Strategic Advantage

With many customers currently evaluating their hypervisor platforms, organizations are taking a closer look at Nutanix and cloud as their primary platform of choice. HYCU is well-positioned on these fronts as a solution with true cloud mobility, and I know it’s better to navigate with tailwinds on your back.’

I would be remiss if I didn’t reflect upon where I came from. Every kid dreams of starting their first job and eventually running the business end-to-end. I am incredibly grateful to have had that opportunity over the last several years at Catalogic and CloudCasa. I’ve also been fortunate to partner and learn from many across the cloud and storage ecosystem, including IBM, Pure Storage, NetApp, and major cloud players such as Microsoft Azure and AWS, as well as the Kubernetes and Velero open-source communities.

Shaping the Future of Cloud Data Protection

As organizations continue to adopt cloud-native architectures and leverage SaaS solutions, HYCU is dedicated to meeting their evolving data protection needs with R-Cloud. By joining HYCU, I'm excited to be part of a team that is shaping the future of data protection in the cloud and beyond. I look forward to helping to shape the future and the journey to make HYCU the #1 SaaS Data Protection Platform of choice for organizations worldwide.

Make sure to mark your calendars for Thursday, November 7th, we’ll be discussing how to protect your entire developer journey on Google Cloud. Registration and details for the webinar are available at: “Guardians of the Pipeline: Protecting Your Entire Dev Journey on Google Cloud.”
