I’m thrilled to share that I’ve joined HYCU, Inc. as Head of Asia Pacific.

After more than three decades in the global tech sector—and over 20 years of those across Japan and Asia Pacific—I’ve seen just how critical it is for organizations to safeguard their data as they scale and transform. That’s why joining HYCU feels not only like the right move, but also a deeply personal and meaningful one.

Why HYCU? Why Now?

In today’s digital-first world, where data sprawls across SaaS applications, on-premises infrastructure, and multi-cloud environments, the challenges of data protection have grown exponentially. The risk of ransomware, compliance pressure, and operational disruptions are not theoretical—they’re daily realities for enterprises across Asia Pacific.

In recent conversations with customers, partners, and peers in the region, one theme kept surfacing: the urgent need for a partner who can simplify, secure, and unify data protection across every environment. HYCU is that partner.

As the #1 SaaS data protection platform, trusted by over 4,600 brands globally, HYCU has reimagined how backup and recovery should work. Its mission to make data protection radically simple—and truly resilient—aligns perfectly with the needs I’ve heard from IT leaders in APAC for years.

The HYCU Difference

At HYCU, we don’t just talk about cyber resilience—we deliver it. Our platform is purpose-built to:

  • Provide agentless, SaaS-native backup and recovery across SaaS, on-prem, and cloud workloads.
  • Accelerate recovery and ensure ransomware protection with built-in immutability and zero-trust architecture.
  • Eliminate vendor lock-in and empower customers with freedom over their data.
  • Streamline compliance with embedded security and governance controls.
  • Offer a dramatically simplified user experience that frees up time, people, and infrastructure.

HYCU has We’ve partnered with the best to make this happen. Our collaboration with Dell delivers best-in-class cyber recovery via PowerProtect Data Domain. With Nutanix, we’ve co-developed deep integrations—making HYCU the only vendor with multiple Nutanix Validated Designs. And with Google Cloud, we were honored to be named the 2024 Technology Partner of the Year for Backup and Disaster Recovery.

These partnerships, alongside an industry-leading 91 NPS and recognition as a Visionary in the 2024 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Backup and Recovery Software Solutions, show why HYCU stands apart.

A New Chapter for Asia Pacific

For me, this role isn’t just about joining a fast-growing tech company—it’s about helping businesses in APAC navigate one of the most important challenges of our time: safeguarding their data to ensure business continuity, compliance, and trust.

Over the years, I’ve built high-impact teams and market strategies across Japan and the broader region—launching new markets, scaling go-to-market efforts, and partnering with CIOs and CISOs to meet business-critical goals. I’ve always taken pride in being a trusted advisor who understands the cultural nuances and market dynamics of APAC.

Now at HYCU, I get to put that experience into action—leading a team that’s not just meeting market needs, but anticipating them.

Let’s Build What’s Next

If you’re passionate about cloud, cyber resilience, and simplifying the complex—we should talk. HYCU is growing fast in Asia Pacific, and we’re building something special. Join us on this journey.
