HYCU was born of a simple idea:

The need to simplify data protection and provide equivalent levels of backup and recovery support across on premises, public cloud, and SaaS workloads.

We have worked since inception to keep companies and the people in them safe by protecting their data and ensuring that IT environments are made more manageable than ever before. Today, hundreds of HYCUers across the world all share a common purpose, the elimination of data silos and the protection of multi-cloud workloads.

HYCU was founded in 2018 after a fortuitous meeting between me and our CTO, Goran Garevski. I didn’t come to that dinner expecting that we would solve a massive data management problem, but when we began to discuss the intricacies of protecting and managing data across varied sources, it became clear that the data protection industry was ripe for disruption.

Ultimately what we discussed over that meal, including topics as wide ranging as the problems with existing data protection vendors, the lack of true backup and recovery “as-a-service," and the growing need to protect SaaS workloads, all became the fundamental pillars of who HYCU would one day become.
